Litter reduction – it’s all about education
It’s Plastic Free July and Byron Shire residents are urged to commit to reducing their use of plastic.
Council’s Waste team has chosen July to launch a new weapon in its arsenal to fight litter in the form of a mobile artwork which will be taken to schools, markets, events and businesses to demonstrate the impact of litter in the Byron Shire.
Zoe White, Council’s Waste Education and Compliance Officer, said plastic pollution is an enormous problem but every person can play a part in keeping their neighbourhood clean.
