Tropical storm Dante has so far caused P268.52 million worth of infrastructure damage to the country, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Thursday, June 3.

In Central Visayas, the partial damage brought on roads and flood-control structures amounted to P106.2 million. Over in Region 12, flood-control structures alone incurred P162.32 million in damages.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that 270 equipment assets and 1,569 workers were deployed to conduct massive clearing activities.
Villar also bared that clearing operations have been launched at three impassable national road sections in the provinces of Cebu, Eastern Samar, and Agusan del Sur.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has issued a resolution assigning the Cabinet officials to step up support for LGUs in battling high coronavirus transmission.
The Cabinet officials, first tasked to oversee over 16 Metro Manila towns and four nearby provinces in August last year, have been asked this time to ensure the LGUs are moving to increase health care capacity, strengthen testing, tracing and isolation protocols, as well as establish special vaccination lanes for health workers, seniors, and those with como
