A new day and here comes a new malware that aimed to trick Android smartphone users and steal their private data without their consent. As per a report coming from security firm

Check Point Research stated that the FlixOnline app sported a Netflix-like look to trick users and promised two months of free subscription through WhatsApp messages. The message that promised to offer free subscription came along with a link that redirected to a website to just capture your personal details including credit card details. It was recently discovered that Android Malware existed as an app on Google Play Store.

HIGHLIGHTS The app called Flixonline, which was downloadable through the Play store, allowed users to watch global Netflix content free of cost.
The fake app was downloaded hundreds of times before it was finally removed by Google.
Once downloaded, the malware could spread itself via mobile users’ WhatsApp conversations.

A SCAM WhatsApp message claiming to offer a free two-month Netflix subscription has been spreading dangerous malware between Android phones.
This is according to cybersecurity researchers who spotted the wormable malware which is disguised as a fake Netflix app.

The fake app was lurking on the Google Play Store and if someone downloaded it then hackers could steal their private data.
According to a Check Point Research, the malware disguises itself as a malicious app called “FlixOnline”.
