The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings for parts of Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Illinois.
Central Missouri remained under a hazardous weather outlook for a good portion of Tuesday, avoiding some of the more dramatic wintry weather seen elsewhere int he Midwest.
Patrick Walsh, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in St. Louis, said that there was no snow accumulation in Columbia other than a dusting. What s affecting central Missouri is minor compared to what s affecting Iowa and Kansas City, Walsh said.
