In all, 16 businesses were inspected, including liquor stores, convenience stores, restaurants and bars.
Three of those businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 19%. One of the businesses failed to check the minor’s identification.
The businesses that violated the law were not named.
Businesses that sell alcohol to a minor are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor, NSP spokesman Cody Thomas said.
One of the businesses that sold alcohol to a minor was also cited for allowing a minor to serve alcohol.

Purchases of alcoholic beverages in the state soared to a record in 2020. That translated into a 6% increase in tax revenue for the state, to $35.4 million.
With bars and restaurants shut down or open with limited capacity, drinkers turned to mixing their own cocktails or popping their bottles of wine or beer at home. Business at liquor stores boomed, and deliveries shot up, which more than offset the loss of sales at barstools and cafe tables.
