FBI Director Christopher Wray has appointed the agency s first ever chief diversity officer.
Scott McMillion, a long-time agent and the former chair of the FBI’s Black Affairs Diversity Committee for years, was named to the post earlier this week.
It follows a swath of other government agencies who have created similar roles in the months since President Biden took office.
McMillion will head direct the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, which was set up in 2012. As our chief diversity officer, Scott is the right person to ensure that the FBI fosters a culture of diversity and inclusion, and that our workforce reflects all the communities we serve , Wray said in a statement.
A trio of Central College student-athletes were announced as the American Rivers Conference performers of the week Monday afternoon. Men’s tennis player David Boschma, men’s track and field athlete Lucas Heitz and softball first baseman Megan Stuhr were all recognized for their efforts last week.
Boschma was 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles for both of Central’s wins last week. The Dutch beat Wartburg College 5-4 and Nebraska Wesleyan University 8-1. At No. 2 singles, Boschma was a 6-2, 6-0 winner against Wartburg and a 6-2, 6-1 winner at Nebraska Wesleyan. Playing with Trey Melvin, the tandem won a pair of 8-2 matches at No. 2 doubles. The Dutch wrap up their regular season schedule with matches at the University of Dubuque and Loras College Sunday.
