Man arrested for outstanding warrant after Chesapeake barricade incident

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A wanted man is now in custody Friday night after a barricade incident.
Police say the barricade incident took place in the 800 block of Laurel Avenue around 2:40 p.m., after police were called for a domestic complaint.
When officers arrived on scene and began conducting their investigation, they say it was determined that someone inside the home had an outstanding warrant.
27-year-old Dequawn Acree of Chesapeake had an outstanding warrant for possession of a firearm by a felon.
Officials say Acree initially refused to exit the home, and members of the Chesapeake SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiations Team responded to assist with the call. After speaking with members of the Chesapeake Police s Crisis Negotiations Team, Acree surrendered at around 5 p.m.

A man accused of stabbing to death his estranged wife after driving to her home in California from Washington state was arrested on Thursday night after a standoff with police.
Officers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department named James Dorsey as the suspect in custody. He allegedly fatally stabbed his wife, 39, who has not been named, while the three children were inside her Santa Clarita home at around 5 a.m. PDT on Thursday.
Police said the 41-year-old lived in Washington state and drove to California on Wednesday.

Authorities arrested James Matthew Dorsey in connection with the stabbing death of Michelle Dorsey, 41, Thursday. After allegedly stabbing Michelle Dorsey with her children in the house, he fled to Gorman in her car, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff s Department. Authorities caught up with him more than 12 hours later at 6 p.m. at 330th Street West and Alamo Pump Drive near Gorman.
