Sheriff’s office investigating burglary, shooting death on Sandstone Court NC GAZETTE / WBRT RADIO STAFF REPORT Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021 A 35-year-old man died of a gunshot wound to the chest Wednesday evening at a home on West Sandstone Court in Stonehouse Flats subdivision According to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and units of the Bardstonw Police Department responded at 8:56 p.m. for a reported burglary at a home on Sandstone Court. Once on the scene, officers located a male subject with a gunshot wound to the chest who was deceased. The officer’s initial investigation determined that David Livers, 35, had entered the residence and an altercation ensued that ended with Livers suffering a gunshot wound.

(LEX 18) — A man was shot and killed Wednesday during an altercation after an apparent burglary attempt, the Nelson County Sheriff s Office said. Police responded to a burglary call at a home on West Sandstone Court at about 9 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they found David Livers, 35, of Bardstown, with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. During an initial investigation, police said Livers was shot during an altercation with someone inside the house after entering the residence. This is a developing story and will be updated.

Four Augusta, Nelson residents arrested on gun, drug charges

The joint investigative operation was conducted by the Skyline Drug and Gang Task Force and the Jefferson Area Drug Enforcement Task Force, with assistance from the Piedmont Regional Drug and Gang Enforcement Task Force and the Central Virginia Drug and Gang Enforcement Task Force. Task force investigators executed search warrants Jan. 12, 2021 and Jan. 13, 2021 at residences in Lyndhurst, Arrington and Lovingston. As a result of the search warrants, task force members seized 15 firearms, approximately 3.25 lbs. of methamphetamine (approximate street value of  $147,000), approximately 1 pound of marijuana (approximate street value of $4,000), marijuana edibles and illegal prescription drugs.
