LAS VEGAS – Fred Campbell plans to head here in early June with an ambitious goal: to build a flawless 26-foot wall, with 800 bricks, in an hour. That will be enough, he figures, to make him the world champion of bricklaying for a record fourth time and secure his reputation as a masonry superstar.
“It’s going to happen,” said Campbell, a mason from Greeneville, Tenn. “It’s set in stone.”

Casinos in Las Vegas have seen restrictions on their capacity come to an end as three of the biggest operators in the city return to 100 percent gaming capacity. This is certainly huge news for the casino industry as it looks to recover following more than a year of COVID-19 bans and restrictions.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board announced on Wednesday last week that social distancing and floor capacity restrictions were lifted for MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, and Station casinos. This welcome waiver from the Gaming Control Board took effect immediately in more than two dozen casino properties on the Las Vegas Strip. Since last summer, when the casinos were allowed to reopen, the gaming floor capacity restrictions had been in place.

Ahead of its planned opening next month and the $4.3 billion Resorts World Las Vegas has reportedly received a giant boost in having its parent operator and top management figures cleared by the Nevada Gaming Commission.
According to a Thursday report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper, the unanimous approval of casino giant Genting Malaysia Berhad as well as this firm’s Chairman, Kok Thay Lim, will allow the 3,506-room development to open to the public from June 24. The five-member watchdog also purportedly endorsed the coming Nevada venue’s President, Scott Sibella, in addition to the senior leadership team that will be in charge of day-to-day operations.
The Malaysia-based owner of Resorts World Las Vegas has received regulatory approval to deal cards, roll dice and welcome gamblers when it opens June 24 on the Las Vegas Strip.
