Moore-Few Care Center Announces New Administrator
Moore-Few Care Center (MFCC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Carmen Pike, RN from Director of Nursing (DON) to Administrator. Her promotion took place in October as the previous administrator Angela Barrett moved on to the position of Controller at Nevada Regional Medical Center.
Pike brings more than 28 years of experience as a career-long employee of MFCC. She has worked her way up through the ranks over the years, with her first job at MFCC as a housekeeper. When asked what she likes about her job, she says she sees long-term care residents as the often-forgotten people of society. “I enjoy taking care of them, making them smile and feel important,” says Pike.

Eric Shane Caldwell, 46, Nevada, MO passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. Eric was born Sept. 27, 1974, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., to Earl and Joyce (Weaver) Caldwell.
Survivors include his wife, Leray, of the home; three children, Erica Caldwell (Levi), and Colton Caldwell, andMcKenzie Haller (Brock); grandchildren, Gunner, Maureen, Madeline, and Lillith; his parents, Earl and Joyce Caldwell; one brother, Justin Caldwell and his son, Owen; two nieces, Hailey Gammon, Kinley Gammon; one nephew, Coby Gammon; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Eric was booted out of high school his senior year by the principal, who told his parents that he thought it was the best thing to do at that time, to keep him away from school, so he did not graduate with his class but he went on to earn his GED which is harder to achieve than graduating from Nevada High School. A Boone County man was injured early Friday evening in a two-vehicle accident in Missouri. Richard Crain of Omaha, whose age was not listed, was transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas, with what were described as serious injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Crain was traveling on Missouri Route K in Barton County. He was nearly 6 miles northwest of Liberal when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck head-on. Crain was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
The truck was driven by 50-year-old Russell Jenkins of Moundville, Missouri. Jenkins was transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, Missouri, with what were described as minor injuries.

Glen Gilbert Noble, 90, Nevada, died on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada.
