(Bloomberg) A major winter storm is zeroing in on more than 51 million people in the eastern U.S. and may bring New York City its heaviest December snow in 10 years.
Snow started falling Wednesday afternoon in New York. The city could get 8 to 14 inches (20 to 36 centimeters) through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The worst of the storm will likely strike after midnight and start tapering off around 8 a.m., said Rob Carolan, owner of Hometown Forecast Services in Nashua, New Hampshire. Areas to the west will probably get hit even harder.
United Airlines To Support CDC s Efforts To Curb Covid-19 Spread
United will collect detailed customer contact information for all international and domestic flights.
United customers will be prompted during the check-in process to voluntarily opt-in and provide their contact information such as an email address, phone numbers and a destination address. These details were previously difficult for the CDC to obtain in real-time, United noted.
United will roll out the contact testing program in phases from this week with the voluntary collection of information for all international arrivals. The airline will then phase in domestic and international outbound departures in the coming weeks.

The Shin Bet security service will stop its using its controversial phone surveillance measures to help track down potential coronavirus carriers from January 20, according to the Kan public broadcaster.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirms he’ll get the coronavirus vaccine on Saturday night, becoming the first Israeli to get inoculated.
