Panther hit by car released back into the wild after treatment from Naples Zoo NAPLES, Fla. – The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) along with the Naples Zoo Rescue released a panther back into the wild Tuesday. FWC rescued the injured Florida panther after it was hit by a car Dec. 9 and rushed him to the animal to the Naples Zoo Glass Animal Hospital for treatment. This panther was the first to be treated at the hospital since it opened one year ago, officials said. Injured panther rushed to Naples Zoo Animal Hospital NAPLES, Fla. – The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission rescued an injured Florida panther that was hit by a car Wednesday. The accident happened on Oil Well Road just west of SR-29 in Corkscrew, FWC officials said. The intersection is just north of the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge. FWC got the call around 4 p.m. and rushed the animal to the Naples Zoo Glass Animal Hospital for treatment. The panther went straight to emergency veterinary treatment.
