WORCESTER The United Way of Central Massachusetts received a $100,000 check from Amazon in support of the organization s summer swimming lessons, youth development programs and more.
The donation was announced Tuesday at an event that included officials from the United Way of Central Massachusetts and Amazon, as well as U.S. Rep. James P. McGovern and City Manager Edward M. Augustus Jr. It took place at the YWCA Central Massachusetts at Salem Square in downtown Worcester. We ve already invested the entire $100,000, but it will probably extend through October, said Tim Garvin, president and CEO of the United Way of Central Massachusetts.
