A Short Break In Victoria s Hidden Goldfields towns

Australian Traveller A short break in Victoria s hidden Goldfields towns 28 June 2021 . BY Imogen Eveson A rich art, music and epicurean culture adds another layer of interest to the compelling old Goldfields towns of Castlemaine, Maldon and their surrounds. West Lafayette man suspected of starting fire at high-rise apartments

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.   Gerardo Sosa-Valenzuela set fire to a hand sanitizer dispenser Saturday night on the sixth floor of the Hub apartments, according to West Lafayette police reports. A fire alarm came in to West Lafayette dispatch just before 10:20 p.m. Saturday indicating there might be a fire at the Hub, 101 W. State St., according to police. Firefighters arrived to find the residents evacuated, according to police. The hand sanitizer dispenser near the sixth-floor elevator had been set on fire, and sprinkers on the floor activated, police said of their investigation.  West Lafayette Fire Chief Tim Heath said no one was displaced by the water damage, saying most of the water damage was to the elevator shaft. Police said there was also water damage on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors.
