(WBAY) – Wisconsin is days from reaching two milestones in the fight against COVID-19: administering 5 million doses of vaccines and fully vaccinating 40% of its population. As we approach these milestones, cases and deaths remain low after frequent but brief surges. The latest figures from the Department of Health Services Wednesday show 4,921,930 “shots in the arm” were given since December 13. By our calculations, the state averaged 24,725 shots per day over the past week. That pace could bring us to the 5 million milestone this coming weekend. Take into consideration that daily vaccination reports always include preliminary numbers as vaccinators continue reporting to the state.

Those cases made up 12.04% of the 3,996 tests for people getting tested for the first time or testing positive for the first time. The DHS reports the seven-day average percentage of positive total tests per day, including people who were tested multiple times, fell to 2.7% Tuesday.

Dutch govt temporarily disables Covid-19 contact-tracing app after it emerges Google apps accessed data on Android phones

Follow RT on The Dutch health ministry has disabled its coronavirus warning app for two days after it was revealed that private data was collected by other programs Google installs by default on Android phones. The CoronaMelder app will not send warnings about potential infections for two days starting from Wednesday evening, the health ministry said on April 28, after the data leak was discovered. The app uses the Google Apple Exposure Notification (GAEN) framework – just like many other similar apps used throughout the EU. It works using constantly changing randomly generated codes exchanged between phones close to each other – and sends warnings to those who were in contact with someone who later tested positive for Covid-19.
