SIBU: Six persons in Kapit have been issued a compound notice for RM2,000 each for indulging in illegal cockfighting activities during the movement control order (MCO).
Kapit OCPD Dept Supt Freddy Bian said on Thursday (June 3) the six were arrested at 3.30pm on June 1 at an open space in Sungai Goh. The six men aged between 51 and 72 were detained during the raid by the CID team, while some others ran off into the jungle, he said.
Police seized six cockfighting spurs, 21 roosters, three rooster carcasses and a weighing machine.
The compound notices were issued under Regulation 17 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021 for violating the MCO.
