The Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) says there is no truth in a report of Boko Haram attacks in Abuja.
The Joint Security Team of the FCT said the publication was meant to create palpable tension among residents.
In a statement on Sunday, the command Public Relations Officer, Mariam Yusuf disclosed that Heads of Security Agencies (HOSA) held a strategic meeting on Thursday.
The spokesperson said they resolved to deploy alternative proactive crime-fighting measures, particularly in areas with challenging terrain, including aggressive motorized/patrols.
Yusuf said the patrols will be conducted in line with the peculiarities of every terrain within the territory.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) alongside twenty-four concerned Nigerians have dragged the President Muhammadu Buhari government and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice.
SERAP accused the Buhari government of arbitrary use of the NBC Act and broadcasting code to target, harass, sanction, and fine independent television and radio stations in Nigeria, and to restrict Nigerians’ freedom of expression and access to information.
The suit was a direct reaction to the recent fine handed to Channels Television by NBC for interviewing the spokesman of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project and 24 concerned Nigerians have sued the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and the National Broadcasting Commission at the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in Abuja.
SERAP said the suit is over “the arbitrary use of the NBC Act and broadcasting code to target, harass, sanction, and fine independent television and radio stations in Nigeria, and to restrict Nigerians’ freedom of expression and access to information.”
The rights group is asking the ECOWAS Court to declare “illegal and contrary to Nigeria’s international human rights obligations the provisions of the NBC Act and broadcasting code frequently apply by the Federal Government and NBC to target, harass, intimidate, and impose sanctions on independent television and radio stations in the country.”
