Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has called on airlines operating in the country to intensify their efforts at complying with the industry’s safety procedures to avoid serious incidents and accidents.
The Director-General of NCAA, Musa Nuhu, made the call during a media interactive session with the League of Aviation and Airport Correspondents (LAAC) in Lagos on Sunday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the director-general was reacting to the suspension of Azman Air by NCAA over non-compliance with the safety procedures.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has approved the commencement of commercial flight operations at the Bayelsa International Airport.
The Director-General of NCAA, Capt. Musa Nuhu, presented the approval letter to Governor Douye Diri at the Government House, Yenagoa, on Saturday, after the agency completed the mandatory inspection of the airport and its facilities.
Musa said the airport met all airspace standards and is one hundred per cent ready for daytime flight operations.
According to him, the approval was sequel to the report of the agency’s inspection team, which prior to the visit had certified that out of 29 gaps, the airport was able to close 26.
