Sterling Bank Pledges Support for Lagos Tourism Masterplan

Sterling Bank Plc has pledged support for the 20-year Lagos State Tourism Masterplan and Policy crafted to transform the state into one of the top five tourism destinations on the African continent. In a goodwill message at the public presentation of the tourism masterplan and policy, the bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Abubakar Suleiman, said, “We will support the government to unleash the tourism potential of Lagos State and reposition it into one of the most preferred destinations in Africa for local and international leisure travellers.” According to the bank chief, the presentation of the 20-year masterplan and policy to industry stakeholders is a concrete and coordinated action for re-booting the tourism economy in Lagos on a robust and sustainable basis.

Places of interest toured and diverse local cuisine enjoyed as the tour operators savoured the serene and beautiful environment and climate of Akwa Ibom. Ambassador: Nigerian tourism village needed in Brazil

Okoredion specifically requested that the Nigerian village model be located in Salvador where Nigeria has a house. The ambassador, who gave the charge while on a networking visit to the NTDC, appealed to Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, director-general of the corporation, to work out the modalities for the project. According to him, “Brazil has a population of 200 million with a black population of 6 percent; the Blacks in Brazil trace their roots to the Bight of Benin in West Africa and there is constant need to renew links with their roots. I therefore seek ways of expanding cooperation between Nigeria and Brazil which will help harness the opportunities that exist between both countries.”
