In a tweet, the former Vice President described the deceased as an accomplished civil servant, astute politician and patriot.
He wrote: “I am grieved by the death of former Minister of Women Affairs, Sen. Aisha Alhassan. I asked about her condition this afternoon after I called her number without a response! Inna lillahi wainna Ilaihi Rajiun!
“May Allah forgive her sins and grant her Aljannah Fiddausi in this holy month. Ameen.
“Mama Taraba as she was popularly known, was an accomplished civil servant, astute politician and patriot. She was compassionate, loyal and deeply committed to a better Nigeria.
NCC warns Telecom consumers against sharing cell phone, NIN, SIM

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has warned telecom consumers not to share their cell phones, National Identity Number (NIN), and Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards with others.
Mr Efeosa Edehen, Director Consumer Affairs Bureau, NCC, said on Thursday at a consumer conversation event organised by the commission in Abuja that defaulters would be held liable for any crime committed with the SIM cards.
The conversation with the theme “Know Your Rights and Obligations as a Telecom Consumer” was aimed at enlightening consumers on the dangers of shearing such vital information.

Vanguard’s investigation yesterday revealed that the telecommunications operators have not been communicated officially with such directive and such could not be able to issue new SIM or reactivate old ones. When Vanguard visited some outlets of Glo, MTN and 9 Mobile in Lagos, officials who preferred anonymity explained that they have not be given the go ahead by their management from the head office to commence new SIM registration or reactivation.
