Wike s Vision, Ingenuity Prompts Rapid Development of Rivers says Nsirim – Nigerian Observer

Port Harcourt – The Rivers State Commissioner of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulnus Nsirim has said that the state has become a major player in national politics because of the vision and ingenuity of His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike towards rapid infrastructural development of the State. The Information and Communications Commissioner emphasised that State has recorded giant strides under the leadership of Governor Wike and charged the media in the State to shift its focus from the urban to the numerous rural developmental projects executed by the Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike”s administration. The Commissioner who disclosed this at a luncheon he organised for media executives and journalists in the state, , emphasized that in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic recession, Governor Wike has been on the driver’s seat pursuing his developmental agenda. “That is the kind of Governor we have in the State ,” he said.

BENIN CITY- Benin City, the Edo State Capital recorded the first rain fall for the year 2021 yesterday, just as the Oba of Benin Kingdom, Oba Ewuare II fete Journalists in the state to an end of year party. The rain, which fell for about twenty minutes, started at about 4 pm with some parts of Benin covered by flood. As part of the annual get together of Journalists in the state, the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II provided a cow and some huge sum of money to the Nigerian Union of Journalists to host an end of year party for its members.

NIJ gets 3rd stream at accreditation On Kindly Share This Story: Nigeria’s premier media training institute, the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Lagos has secured the nod of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to increase population size of its trainees by an additional stream of 40 students from the current eighty, given admission through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Admission to the NIJ had been limited to two streams of forty students per stream for entry point students who acquire both academic and professional training to be journalists at the NIJ. Now, the NIJ can admit 120 students at the entry point for students training to become career journalists.
