Minimum wage: FCTA to screen 17,000 teachers

Com Knabayi said a 75-member committee inaugurated last Thursday by the FCT permanent secretary, comprising members from the NUT, the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and the FCTA was to conduct the screening. He said, “With the way they have streamlined the screening process; that it is going to be done zone by zone, we are optimistic that the exercise shall be completed within the stipulated time.” The NUT chairman disclosed that arrangements had been made to provide security for the committee members, especially those that would be going to rural schools and therefore called on the teachers and staff of the LEAs to cooperate with the members of the committee.

Oyo State Govt donates 18-seater buses to TUC, NULGE

By David Adeoye Ibadan, Jan 15, 2021 Oyo State government, on Friday, donated one 18-seater bus each to the state chapters of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE). The government said that the buses would help to enhance the discharge of duties by the labour unions. The Special Adviser to Gov. Seyi Makinde on Labour Matters, Mr Titilola Sodo, presented the keys of the buses to the representatives of the labour unions. Sodo said the donation was part of the governor’s promises to aid service delivery of workers in the state. He stressed that the gesture had further confirmed the robust relationship between the government, labour leaders and the workers.
