Bryant s family selected Jordan to present him at the May 15 ceremony at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, according to a statement from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. When Kobe Bryant died, a piece of me died, and as I look at this arena and across the globe, a piece of you died, he said last February. I promise you, from this day forward, I will live with the memories of knowing that I had a little brother that I tried to help in every way I could. Please rest in peace, little brother.
Michael Jordan will induct Kobe Bryant into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame
The organisation has confirmed that the Chicago Bulls legend will honour the sports icon - who died in a helicopter crash in January 2020 - at the ceremony on May 15, which was originally postponed due to the pandemic 19 April 2021
Explaining the decision, the Hall of Fame said: Members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2020 were asked to select previous inductees to accompany and present them to their peers. The choice is solely the decision of the incoming Hall of Famers, or their family members if recognised posthumously.
