Over 500 shanties were reduced to ashes near Noida Sec 65 on Sunday NOIDA: Two sisters, aged three and six years, were charred to death in a fire that reduced over 500 shanties to ashes in Behlolpur village near Noida Sector 65 on Sunday. Officials in the fire department said a short circuit could have caused the flames and a heavy wind fanned them. What may have caused the fire to spread fast was that most of the shanties were made of plastic and tarpaulin sheets and many of them housed godowns of inflammable materials. The villagers said they had also heard a few cooking gas cylinders exploding.

Techie out for morning jog sexually harassed | Noida News

Noida: A 43-year-old programme manager working with a US-based MNC was allegedly sexually harassed by a man on a bike while she was jogging on Wednesday morning. The incident allegedly took place between 5.45am and 6am when the woman was running on the main road joining the intersection near Cleo County with Kailash Hospital in Sector 71. A youth arrived on a black bike and touched her inappropriately, the woman claimed. She said she tried to chase the man but he sped away. The woman told TOI that soon after the incident, she took a lift from a delivery boy who was travelling on the road. He dropped her to the Phase III police station where she found very few officers.
