Which Pa. schools had the largest number of arrests in 2019-20?
Updated Feb 15, 2021;
The Pennsylvania Department of Education’s annual Safe Schools report for the 2019-20 school year showed a noticeable drop in reported arrests.
Districts are required to submit their misconduct reports, both criminal and academic infractions, to the state every year. Reporting sometimes changes from year-to-year, but no changes were made last school year.
Last year, the top three criminal reasons why students were in trouble statewide were:
Possession, use, or sale of tobacco or vaping 8.34 percent
Fighting 8.14 percent
Minor altercation 5.42 percent
Here’s a list of the schools that had the largest number of arrests, and the crime that was most common at each school.
Montco Vaccine Wait Line Grows To 153K, COVID Hotline Launched - Norristown, PA - The wait line continues to grow as the county seeks ways to address the mounting frustrations of confused residents.
YEADON, Pennsylvania (WPVI) A COVID-19 vaccine shortage in Pennsylvania is frustrating officials in Delaware and Montgomery counties. We only got 1,000 vaccines this past week. We certainly asked for more than that, said Delaware County Councilman Kevin Madden.
The county has two mass vaccination sites, one in Yeadon and another in Aston. Madden said they re ready to vaccinate the more than 500,000 people who live in the region.
He said the percentage of residents who ve been given both doses of vaccine is also small. It s a little over 1% at this point. It s a very fragmented system. I think the countries that have done well, it s been a very top down nationally coordinated process. That s not the case here, said the councilman.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA The national vaccine shortage continues to severely impact Montgomery County, as the wait line for those eligible to receive doses in the 1A priority group has grown drastically.
There are now 139,926 residents preregistered and waiting for doses, officials said. At the current rate that doses are being received, and the rate at which this line is being processed, it could take up to 12 weeks for residents to hear back about scheduling their appointment following their preregistration. There will be enough vaccine for all of us that want it, but there is not enough today, Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh said Wednesday.
