Lillehammer to host 2021 European Curling Championships Saturday, 19 December 2020 The World Curling Federation (WCF) has announced Lillehammer as the host of the 2021 European Curling Championships, following the cancellation of the 2020 edition which had been set to take place in the Norwegian city. Assuming the event goes ahead, it would mark the fourth time that Norway has hosted the European Championships, with previous editions taking place in Oslo in 1977, Lillehammer in 1990 and Stavanger in 2013. The next edition of the tournament is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 27. Curling events featured when Lillehammer hosted the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games, while the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship and World Senior Curling Championships were held in Norway last year, in Stavanger.

Two Olympic medallists appointed to WCF Nominations Committee The World Curling Federation s (WCF) first-ever Nominations Committee has been formally established, with five members appointed. Amy Nixon of Canada, Luxembourg s Karen Wauters and Norwegian Morten Søgård were all elected to the Nominations Committee. Australian Curling Federation President Kim Forge was appointed by the WCF Athlete Commission, with Hew Chalmers appointed by the WCF Board. The creation of the Nominations Committee was approved by the WCF General Assembly in September. It has been created to review nominations for vacancies on the WCF Board and recruit candidates whose skills could complement the existing composition of the Board.
