Norway records 23 vaccination-related deaths and revises guidelines on frail elderly

The Norwegian drug agency recorded 23 suspected deaths, including the elderly and frail, associated with Pfizer-BioNTech s anti-Covid vaccination . The agency has published a report on the adverse effects of the vaccine, which at this time is being administered precisely to guests of nursing homes and to the very old and with multiple diseases. According to the report, taken up by the Guardian, common reactions to mRNA vaccines, such as fever and nausea, may have contributed to a fatal outcome in some frail and elderly patients. The agency points out that the vaccine trials did not include patients with acute or unstable disease and included a few over 85 .

But after this unexpected incident, Chinese health experts called for suspending mRNA-based vaccine use, especially for elderly people. Meanwhile, Norwegian authorities pointed out that the vaccinations could be too risky for the very old and terminally ill people.

Six nations called the situation unacceptable , and warned that it decreases the credibility of the vaccination process .
Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia urged the EU to apply pressure to Pfizer-BioNTech.
Pfizer said the reduced deliveries are a temporary issue.
