LONG ISLAND, NY More than 3,600 PSEG Long Island customers were without power Thursday morning as a winter storm dropped over a half-foot of snow on parts of the island and lashed the area with wind gusts up to 50 mph.
A winter storm warning remains in effect until 1 p.m. Less than an inch of additional snow accumulation is expected. The bulk of the precipitation has come to an end, however the region continues to see areas of slim bands of moderate precipitation moving across portions of the area, the National Weather Service said in a forecast discussion.
