(WBTV) - Three Rivers Land Trust (TRLT) has announced the conservation of a 35-acre property located in Rowan County, purchased from the Crowther Family in February of 2021. This new conservation property builds off an additional 1,400 acres owned by TRLT and known as their Two Rivers Property.

The law was amended to include golden eagles, and is still in effect.

Duck hunter fatally shot by member of his hunting party, North Carolina officials say Mark Price, The Charlotte Observer Jan. 26 A man who was well-known in the North Carolina hunting community was shot and killed Monday while duck hunting in coastal Hyde County, according to the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission. Brandon Marshall was shot by a member of his party, officials said in a news release. Marshall was from the Englehard community in Hyde County, a coastal county on the Pamlico Sound. Local first responders arrived on scene shortly after the 911 call was made and proceeded with lifesaving efforts until EMS arrived, officials said. The incident is currently still under investigation.

Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC). This boating access area was located on private property owned by the Crowther family, but was operated and maintained by Alcoa (Aluminum Company of America).
