“Watchmen” and “The Leftovers” creator Damon Lindelof’s next series, “Mrs. Davis,” has been picked up straight-to-series at Peacock, the streamer announced Thursday.
Co-created by Lindelof and “Young Sheldon” alum Tara Hernandez, “Mrs. Davis” is described as “an exploration of faith versus technology an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions.” Specific plot details are being kept under wraps. Peacock has picked up 10 episodes.

Miley Cyrus has signed a talent and development deal with NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, which includes a first-look arrangement between Cyrus’ production company Hopetown Entertainment (which she runs with her mother and manager Tish Cyrus). Hopetown will develop scripted and unscripted projects for the NBCU outlets including NBC, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, SYFY, Universal Kids, USA and Peacock. Cyrus may serve as a producer, performer and/or host on any number of network, cable, streaming and syndication programs.
Cyrus will also star in three specials for NBCU, starting with the Pride concert special “Stand By You,” for Peacock. The one-hour special was filmed in Nashville and features Cyrus singing her hits and her take on classics, “all in the spirit of Pride.”

Julie Plec is set to adapt the
Vampire Academy young adult book series, as written by Richelle Mead, for a scripted live-action drama for Peacock.
The Vampire Diaries franchise co-creator and her longtime collaborator Marguerite MacIntyre will serve as co-showrunners on the series, and according to THR, the new project has already received a straight-to-series order.
