It’s Mother’s Day weekend, and that means a lot of mom-centered events are going on. A large number of restaurants (too many to list here) are offering special Mother’s Day brunches, and the ongoing Romanza Festivale of Music & the Arts is continuing with special music, dance, art, opera and high school choruses, to name a few, this weekend and into the week. Whatever you prefer, as usual, there’s something for everyone.
Butterfield Garage: ‘To Mom With Love’
Butterfield Garage Art Gallery will celebrate Mother’s Day all month with the “To Mom With Love” exhibit of art created by artists of all ages. The gallery invited artists to show their personal interpretations of motherhood, and also invited the community to create a dialogue around those interpretations.
Spring has sprung in St. Johns County, and now, in contrast to last year at this time, there’s a lot to do.
While it still feels good to engage in some exercise outside, before it gets too hot, there’s a 3K run, and for the foodies in the area, a food and wine festival. And that’s not even counting 15 days of music, opera, exhibits and more that start Saturday.
Pro Watercross National Championship Tour
On Saturday and Sunday at Vilano Beach, watercross racers will compete for more than $150,000 in prizes. Watercross racers compete on a closed-buoy course on personal watercraft, with as many as 16 racing at one time. Each race lasts an average of 10 laps, but the course, depending on the ocean, tides and water churned up by the racers, can vary from lap to lap.
