NASCAR has long been a fixture in America’s collective sports consciousness, particularly in the South, where stock car racing first took off. And while tradition plays a big role in the races it oversees, NASCAR is widening its reach this year, making way for a season unlike any other. For starters, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series will introduce three new racetracks (Circuit of the Americas, Nashville Superspeedway, and Road America) to the mix the most significant venue expansion since 1969. This year’s schedule will also feature an all-new dirt race at the Bristol Motor Speedway, and a new road course event at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. And with new events scheduled in Nashville and Austin, Texas, Southern devotees will be closer to the action than ever but even those watching from home can get into the spirit.
BetMGM secures industry-first deal with Nascar team

BetMGM has become the first gambling operator to officially partner with a professional Nascar team after it secured a deal with Richard Childress Racing (RCR).
Under the agreement, BetMGM, the betting brand operated via the joint venture between Entain and MGM Resorts, will become the official sports betting operator of the team.
BetMGM will also collaborate with RCR on a range of marketing and activation assets, including primary sponsorship for select races during the 2021 Nascar Cup Series.
This will begin with an associate partnership RCR’s No. 3 Chevrolet driven by Austin Dillon, as well as No. 8 Chevrolet driven by Tyler Reddick, at the Nascar Cup Series at event at Daytona International Speedway on February 14.
Last year s race ended on a frightening note, with driver Ryan Newman in serious condition at the hospital after an accident during the final lap. Newman was able to recover, but other drivers who have been in wrecks during the Daytona 500 have not been as fortunate. In 2001, racing legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. was tragically killed in a last lap crash.
The 200-lap race will be held at Daytona International Speedway on February 14. In addition to Hamlin, I m keeping my eyes on Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, and Ryan Blaney as top contenders.

Ty Dillon to Run Partial Xfinity Schedule with Joe Gibbs Racing January 27, 2021 at 3:10 PM
Joe Gibbs Racing announced today that Ty Dillon will drive the team’s No. 54 Toyota Supra in select NASCAR Xfinity Series races in 2021, including the season opener at Daytona International Speedway on February 13. Beyond Daytona, Dillon’s Xfinity Series schedule currently includes races at Homestead-Miami Speedway (February 27), Las Vegas Motor Speedway (March 6) and Talladega Superspeedway (April 24).
Dillon, a native of Lewisville, North Carolina, has made more than 350 starts across NASCAR’s three national series. His resume includes an Xfinity Series victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2014 and top-five finishes in the points standings in each of his three fulltime seasons in the series. Dillon has spent the past four years competing fulltime in the NASCAR Cup Series.

NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson showed up at Daytona International Speedway on Friday morning for the Roar Before the Rolex 24 feeling more like he was in mid-season form than climbing behind the wheel for the annual season start-up session most racers use to brush off the dust.
That’s because since Johnson completed his final NASCAR full-time season in November, the stock car champ has spent the last months testing IndyCars around the country – from famed tracks in Laguna Seca, California, to Sebring, Florida – preparing for his inaugural season in the NTT IndyCar Series driving road course events for Chip Ganassi Racing.
