Our View: It s not too late to mark Earth Day

Earth Day has come and gone, but the Earth, obviously, has not.
We often note in this space that calling attention to a specific public-health or safety issue only on its designated day is not enough. For example, heeding the warning signs of a stroke only during May, which is Stroke Awareness Month, misses the point.
The same is true of Earth Day. If we take an interest in sustainability and the planet’s health only on April 22, we won’t see the sort of widespread change necessary.
