DILLWYN (WINA) – Facing the possibility of of being a county without a family physician, Buckingham County has signed an agreement with Sentara Health who has gifted a closed medical building they used to own to the county. In September, Sentara confirmed to the county they were transferring the loan physician in Buckingham Family Medicine in Dillwyn, Dr. Richard Muller, to their Spring Creek facility at Zion Crossroads. That set forward a series of events that led to Sentara offering to gift the Dillwyn building to the county, which happened last week.
Upon received notification, Maysville District Supervisor Jordan Miles and Buckingham County Chamber of Commerce’s Sandra Moss started working on how to keep a family physician in Dillwyn.
