Pic: Sandeep.Mishra / Shutterstock.com American media firm The Walt Disney Company has decided to reinstate Bangladesh as a Permitted Sourcing Country with International Labor Standard audits, said Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) citing a trusted source. The company had stopped sourcing from Bangladesh following the fire and building collapse disasters in 2013.
An official notification from Disney is yet to be published, BGMEA said in a press release.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan welcomed the move by The Walt Disney in recognition to the all-out progresses and transformation in the industry, particularly in the area of workplace safety, social standards and environmental sustainability.
