Tougher movement ahead unless Rozina gets bail on Sunday
Journalists have threatened to wage a tougher movement if Prothom Alo senior reporter Rozina Islam, arrested in a case filed under the Official Secrets Act, does not get bail on Sunday
The announcement was given from a protest rally organised by Dhaka Reporters Unity in front of DRU office on Friday.
Speaking at the programme, Deep Azad, Nagarik TV news editor and treasurer of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists, raised question about the good intention of the government regarding Rozina’s bail.
He demanded an independent and neutral probe body consists of journalists and officials of other ministries instead of home ministry to investigate the matter.

Journalists are holding a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club this morning, demanding immediate release of Prothom Alo s senior reporter Rozina Islam.
Bangladesh Secretariat Reporter s Forum, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), Rangpur Division Journalist Association and Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association are participating in the human chain.

Journalists in Jhenaidah also formed human chain in front of Kaliganj Main Bus Stand area around 10:00am today, protesting the harassment and arrest of Rozina.
Different local human rights organisations and people of all professions joined the protest programme, demanding immediate released of the journalist.

Journalists on Wednesday formed a human chain in front of the Jatiya Press Club demanding unconditional release of journalist Rozina Islam and punishment of those involved in harassing her at the Secretariat.
Dhaka Reporters Unity, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalist, Barishal Divisional Journalist Association, Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum, Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association and other organizations joined the human chain around 11 am.
They also demanded withdrawal of false case filed against Rozina.
Besides, Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) held a protest rally in front of its office demanding the same.
Rozina, senior journalist of Prothom Alo, was handed over to police on Monday night after being held at the Secretariat for over five hours.
Journos form human chain demanding Rozina’s release
Demanding Rozina Islam’s unconditional release, withdrawal of case and punishment of officials of the Health Ministry, the journalists are forming human chain programme in front of Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Wednesday.
Organised by different organisations including Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalist (BFUJ), Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF), Bangladesh Photo Journalist Association and Rangpur Divisional Journalist Association (RDJA)), the programme started at 11am.
The leaders said the movement will go on until Rozina Islam’s release.
Meanwhile, the journalists are staging demonstration across the country, including Dhaka, protesting arrest and harassment of Rozina.

Journalists have gone to Shahbagh Police Station to protest the confinement of Bangla daily Prothom Alo s Senior Reporter Rozina Islam at the Secretariat and her subsequent handover to the police station.
Various organisations and journalist leaders have also condemned the incident, reports Prothom Alo.
Journalists from different media outlets staged demonstrations inside Shahbagh Police Station tonight and called for Rozina s release, reports Prothom Alo.
