Stressing on implementing projects before scheduled timeframe, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said there is no alternative way of hundred percent achievement of Annual Development Programme (ADP) without implementing projects before the stipulated time amid coronavirus pandemic.
“We have to continuously make efforts for implementing projects before the scheduled timeframe for achieving ADP by maintaining necessary health guidelines of the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said while addressing an online review meeting on implementation progress of the development projects under the Power Division here today.
Underscoring the need for publicity of the works of the Power Division, the state minister said, “We have to enhance communication with the subscribers.”

Bangladesh to buy two LNG cargoes from spot market
Bangladesh will buy two LNG cargoes from spot market in June, one less from May, as it will be importing more gas from term suppliers in the hot summer month.
The state-run Petrobangla will import six cargoes in June, its highest import slot in a month, from term suppliers to feed power plants and industries.
The country’s temperature normally remains warm during summer that officially starts from April 01.
During May and June, sources said, temperature remains warm too when energy consumption increases to meet the requirement of growing electricity generation.

Unique Meghnaghat Power is going to sell an 11.76 per cent stake to Doha-based power development and investment company Nebras Power Investment Management BV worth $24.06 million or Tk 206 crore.
Parent company the Unique Hotel and Resorts made the disclosure through the Dhaka Stock Exchange website yesterday. It said to have already signed a memorandum of understanding with Nebras.
A total of 14,641 shares would be sold having a face value of Tk 10, informed the company.
Nebras develops and manages portfolios of strategic investment in the power sector globally. Its total asset was 7.2 billion Qatari riyals in 2019, according to the company s website.
