Jashim Uddin elected FBCCI president 224 DHAKA, May 9, 2021 (BSS) – Jashim Uddin, vice-president of Bengal Group, has been elected as the new president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) for the 2021-23 term. Election Board Chairman Professor Ashraf Ali announced the results today. Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, a former vice-president of the federation and former president of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has become the senior vice-president of the new FBCCI board. MA Momen of Ink Manufacturers Association, Habib Ullah Dawn, a former president of Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association or BARVIDA, and Amin Helali of Printing Industry Association have been elected vice-presidents from the Association Group of the federation.

Some 788 units of ambulances got registered in 2020, up 18 per cent year-on-year, according to data from Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA). Businesses invested more in ambulance import last year after the Covid-19 outbreak, when the demand for the vehicle started increasing, said Mohammad Shahidul Islam, secretary general of the Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (Barvida).

BARVIDA donates ambulance to PM’s humanitarian programme 342 DHAKA, Dec 22, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (BARVIDA) has donated an ambulance to the Prime Minister’s humanitarian programme. BARVIDA leaders handed over the ambulance to Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus at a function at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) here today, said a BARVIDA press release. BARVIDA President Abdul Haque, Secretary General Mohammed Shahidul Islam, Vice-President Md Saiful Islam (Somrat) and Treasurer Mohammad Anisur Rahman were present at the function. As per the Prime Minister’s directive, the ambulance was, later, allocated to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and Hospital while director of the hospital Professor Dr Mir Jamal Uddin received the ambulance at the same function, the release said.
