CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Dec 16, 2020 (BSS) – The 50th Victory Day is being celebrated in a befitting manner in the district.
The day’s programme started with 31 gun salute and hoisting the national flag at all government and non-government buildings after the sun rises.
Wreaths were placed at the altar of the monument of the martyred freedom fighters in front of the deputy commissioner’s office and at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the town.
Around 9:30 am, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Monzurul Hafiz hoisted the national flag officially at Bangabandhu Manch on his office premises.
Martyred Intellectual Day observed in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Dec 14, 2020 (BSS)- The Martyred Intellectuals Day-2020 was observed in the district today paying rich tribute to the martyred.
Marking the day, the district administration chalked out the elaborate programmes in cooperation with Gaibandha Municipality.
Whip of the Jatiya Sangshad Mahabub Ara Begum Gini accompanied by leaders and activists of Awami League placed wreaths at the mausoleum of the Liberation War of the town here.
The district administration led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin, Superintendent of Police (SP) Towhidul Islam, also placed wreaths.
The programme was followed by a discussion meeting held at the auditorium of Zila Shilpakala Academy of the town with DC Abdul Matin in the chair.
