Touching on the controversial subject of the autonomy of the Szeklerland, Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) Kelemen Hunor told an Antena 3 TV show on Tuesday evening that no form of autonomy encroaches on the unity of the Romanian state and on territorial integrity. We have always said, and I agree with you that this needs an extremely balanced and well-grounded approach, and every time one must say that neither local, nor regional autonomy, no form of autonomy encroaches on the unity of the Romanian state and territorial integrity whatsoever. This is what must be made clear every time, and whenever we are having a serious talk, with arguments, about any form of subsidiarity or autonomy, I try to begin with this phrase: it does not encroach on territorial integrity and national unity, Kelemen Hunor said.

Bilateral relations between Hungary and Romania have huge untapped potential , including in terms of cross-border interregional cooperation, economic and energy cooperation, as well as cooperation with the Visegrad Group in Central Europe, said the president of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR), Kelemen Hunor, in an interview published in Friday s edition of the Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet, quoted by MTI.

Prime Minister Florin Citu said on Wednesday that he too wants schools to reopen, but stressed that this is conditional on the COVID-19 pandemic. I had a discussion with Mr. Kelemen Hunor (leader of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania - UDMR, ed. n.), and with Mr. Barna (leader of the Save Romania Union - USR, ed. n.) and I too want schools to reopen, to have restaurants opened, I said that last year too. As far as I m concerned, if it wasn t for the health problem, I d like them to be reopened. Yet we have this pandemic conditionality. (.) Personally, I believe that we must do everything we need to be able to reopen schools as early as possible, which is why it is important that in addition to the vaccination campaign we also have this campaign to reduce the effects of the pandemic, to keep up the pace. So far we ve seen that numbers have dropped, we ve reached a comfortable level, there are cities, municipalities that have come out o

The Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) says that reopening schools and kindergartens, namely classic education, needs to be resumed as of February 8, the Deputy Prime Minister and leader of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, specified, on Wednesday. The opinion of UDMR - which we are trying to impose to governing partners - is that classic education needs to be resumed as of February 8, the second semester of the school year, especially for kindergartens, primary and terminal, VIII-th and XII-th classes. We said it during the campaign and we will keep supporting what the education experts are saying: by partially reopening schools and kindergartens, pre-schoolers and students will learn in a controlled environment, because the teachers are doing all that they can to respect public safety regulations, Kelemen Hunor wrote on Facebook.
