18 | December | 2020 | RUTHFULLY YOURS

https://amgreatness.com/2020/12/17/covid-panic-to-rule-bidens-first-100-days/ It will be the perfect virtual start for the most remote presidential candidate ever elected thanks in large part to voters who also never needed to show up. On January 20, barring some last-minute miracle that rescues Donald Trump’s presidency, Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president of the United States. Inauguration Day once served as a symbol of hope to subjugated people around the world; the ceremony proved that democracy works, free citizens can and should choose their national leadership, and political disagreements are settled with ballots, not bullets. Sadly, like so many once-revered American traditions, the peaceful transfer of power from one political party to the other has been desecrated, hijacked by vengeful partisans intent on keeping power at any cost.

Hungary: Europe s Borders Must be Protected by Soeren Kern •

Posted By Ruth King on December 18th, 2020 “Hungary will only be a Hungarian country as long as its borders remain intact. Therefore, not only our thousand-year-old statehood but also the future of our children obliges us to protect our borders.” Judit Varga, Hungarian Justice Minister, December 17, 2020. “While the Action Plan would give immigrants more rights and entitlements, it does not seem to take into consideration the security risks associated with mass migration.” Zoltán Kovács, spokesman for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, December 17, 2020. “If you are thinking that all of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. UK students are set to lose access to the EU’s foreign exchange scheme, Erasmus+, in what will arguably be the biggest Brexit-perpetrated crime. Forget the economics of it, this is wrecking a whole generation’s prospects. There may yet be a Brexit deal before the end of the transition period, although it remains to be seen how significantly Emmanuel Macron’s COVID infection – and possible transmission to other leaders – will affect the negotiations. Cries of “fumée blanche” by hacks who should know better were comprehensively put down yesterday, as more reliable sources denounced the ‘news’ as “total garbage” and “just no”.

EU court deals another blow to Hungarian asylum policy

In the latest legal setback for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the top EU court in Luxembourg ruled that Budapest had broken Union law by restricting access to the international protection procedure for asylum applicants in transit zones and unlawfully detaining them. The European Court of Justice said Hungary had failed to fulfil its obligation to give effective access for asylum-seekers to submit their application, who were thus confronted with “the virtual impossibility of making their application.” Since the EU migration crisis in 2015, the Hungarian government – which has fiercely opposed the idea of taking in migrants and refugees – has repeatedly come under fire from the EU over its practices.
