COVID numbers jump back up with 69 new cases in Henderson County HENDERSON, Ky. After a week with a relatively low number of cases, Henderson County had 69 new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported Friday by the Green River District Health Department. In the first four days of week, Henderson County had seen 87 new cases and only had seven reported on Thursday. Along with Friday s big jump in numbers locally, the GRDHD reported 282 new cases in its seven-county area and the death of two Daviess County residents. Daviess County recorded 163 new cases on Friday, Union County and Ohio County had 16 apiece, Hancock County had eight, Webster County seven and McLean County three.

Andy Beshear announced 3,349 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 54 additional deaths on Thursday afternoon. Thursday’s COVID-19 report contains the highest single-day death total since the beginning of the pandemic. “Our death report today is by far the most people that we’ve lost, and remember, that’s a reflection of where this virus was about three weeks ago, where it was trending,” Gov. Beshear said. “I hope we don’t have another day like this, ever. These are 54 families that need our help and compassion and green lights. They also need us to do better.”
