Vadodara: Nearly 600 students from the city scored 90-plus percentile as the National Testing Agency (NTA) declared results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main February 2021, first session, on Monday night.
Kirtan Patel, a student of Green Valley High School, secured score of 99.99 percentile. Kirtan is a resident of Borsad town of Anand district. His father Dr Vijay Patel is a consultant physician.
Kirtan will go for another crack at the test when JEE Main 2 are held. “I will try to improve my percentile by appearing in Main 2 as well. My focus is on JEE (Advanced),” said Kirtan, who dreams to pursue a degree in computer science from one of the top IITs.
State Superintendent Tony Thurmond Announces Model Continuation High Schools for 2021
SACRAMENTO State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond announced today that 27 schools throughout the state were recognized as Model Continuation High Schools (MCHS) for 2021.
“Student attendance and engagement in distance learning during the school closures has been difficult especially for students who struggled with attendance issues before the pandemic,” said Thurmond. “These model schools have been able to keep at-risk students on track using social and emotional learning, mentorship programs, restorative justice practices, and other innovative methods. Through the work of dedicated teachers and administrators, model continuation schools provide the students they serve with new academic opportunities that can change the course of their lives in high school and beyond.”
Independence High School had a higher graduation rate than Paso Robles Joint Unified District s overall graduation rate at 100 percent, according to the California Department of Education. In comparison, Paso Robles Joint Unified District had a graduation rate of 95.2 percent for the 2017-2018 school year. According to CDE data, graduation rates continue to indicate an increase in disproportional academic performance between white, Black, Latino, and English learner students. According to the National Centre for Education Statistics, in the 2017-2018 school year, of the 50 states where data was collected, students with disabilities were at the bottom of 4-year high school graduation rates by student group.

The Northwest College Volleyball team continues to announce new additions that will join the Trapper volleyball program for the 2021-22 season. Monday night the Trappers announced the signing of Olivia Chadwick from Green Canyon High School in Logan, Utah. Three current Trappers attended Green Canyon as well.
Chadwick is an outside hitter. She was a 4A State Champion in 2019 and earned 2
nd Team All-State. She has also been named Coca Cola Athlete of the Month.
The Trappers are excited to have Olivia join the program in August.
