Islamabad: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee secretary Mohinder Singh on Wednesday said that a group of Sikh pilgrims, that was made to stay at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Pakistan for six hours, was safely escorted to Gurdwara Panja Sahib.
Due to the arrest of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Hussain Rizvi, riots had broken out in several parts of Pakistan. Rizvi was demanding that the French ambassador be sent home over alleged blasphemous caricatures published in Paris. His arrest led to the death of three people in the violence that ensued.

The information about the safety of Sikh pilgrims was shared by Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) secretary Mohinder Singh.
Amritsar: 437 Sikh pilgrims, who were granted permission to visit Pakistan on the occasion of Baisakhi, are safe amid ongoing protest and violence in the country after the arrest of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Hussain Rizvi.
The information about the safety of Sikh pilgrims was shared by Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) secretary Mohinder Singh.
Speaking to ANI, he said, Due to TLP`s leader Rizvi arrest and its after-effects protest across Pakistan, the Sikh pilgrims going to Panja Sahib Gurudwara were stuck. It took 6 hours for them to reach Lahore after many struggles. They had to stay at Shri Dera Sahib in Lahore.
Baisakhi Mela main function today

LAHORE:The main function of Khalsa Janam Din and Baisakhi Mela will be held on Wednesday (today) at Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hassan Abdal.
Representatives of the federal and provincial governments, political, social leaders and Sikh pilgrims from all over the world will participate in the function. At least 818 people have come from India to attend the traditional Sikh festival of Baisakhi Mela and Khalsa Janam Din, while hundreds of Sikh pilgrims from all over the world have reached Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hassan Abdal. They were accompanied by Additional Secretary Shrines of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Tariq Wazir, Deputy Secretary Imran Gondal and spokesperson Amir Hussain Hashmi.
