Punjab governor says training centres will help Pakistan enter fourth industrial revolution

FAISALABAD:
The Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) would play a crucial role in industrial development in the country, said Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of FIEDMC IQTM Training Centre, he stated that the newly established centre would link education with practical training, which would provide skilled manpower for the industrial sector.
“It will help Pakistan enter the fourth industrial revolution,” Sarwar said, adding, “Progress and prosperity are directly linked with industrialisation.”
“It will provide skilled manpower to the industrial units to be established in the Special Economic Zone, Allama Iqbal Industry City and other industrial zones.”

Two Turkish firms in Pakistan’s second-largest city on Wednesday demanded the return of their vehicles from police along with an official apology.
The demand came after riot police in Lahore early Monday raided six garage facilities used by the Albayrak and Ozpak Group companies, which provide cleaning services. The police forced company employees and administrators out to the streets, assaulted some employees, and did not allow the Turkish staff to take any of their belongings.
A meeting was held in the northeastern city to discuss the dispute between the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) and Turkish companies, according to Turkish company officials speaking to Anadolu Agency.

The government is utilising all available resources for the progress of local industry, due to which textile and auto industries were functioning smoothly to their capacity, said Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar. Speaking to a delegation of businessmen, led by Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) former president Sheikh Muhammad Faisal Akraam, he urged the industrialists and traders to share their profit with workers as a social responsibility. Sarwar assured to provide more land for second small industrial state established over 100 acres in Sahiwal. He said the government would help industrialists and traders in the promotion of their businesses so that the wheel of industry would continue to move, which would ultimately help alleviate poverty from the society.
