Punjab Imposes Strictures On Illegal Entry Of Wheat
The state will deploy enforcement teams at borders to monitor trucks and trolleys entering the districts

The Punjab government has instructed officials to maintain vigil and ensure action against illegal transportation of wheat from other states.
While procurement of wheat is currently going on in the state, Punjab Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan asked police and administration to take adequate measures. The state will deploy enforcement teams at borders to check the illegal trade.
Wheat is allegedly procured at cheaper rates elsewhere and sold in Punjab as per minimum support prices (MSP).

Jalandhar: In a shocking and shameful incident, a Punjab Police officer was allegedly attacked by a group of youngsters while he was trying to enforce night curfew in Jalandhar district of the state.
She directed the administrative secretary in-charge of each district to oversee the planning and response system. Chairing a meeting to review the COVID vaccination and management in the state here, the chief secretary directed all deputy commissioners, police commissioners and district police chiefs to focus on reducing the mortality rate and make efforts to increase the contact tracing, testing as well as to enhance the vaccination drive exponentially to take Punjab out of the present critical situation. Mahajan stressed that the COVID norms should be strictly enforced to contain the number of cases, which increased exponentially in the past week in Punjab, according to an official statement.

New Delhi [India], April 3 (ANI): After 44,202 people were recovered from the COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the cumulative recoveries in the country crossed the one crore mark (1,15,69,241) on Saturday.
India reported 89,129 new COVID-19 cases and 714 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The cumulative count of the COVID-19 cases in India now stands at 1,23,92,260 while people succumbing to the virus has mounted to 1,64,110.
Maharashtra continues to report the highest number of daily cases in the country. The state reported 49,447 new COVID cases and 277 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll mounted to 55,656.
