LAHORE: Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht has reiterated that 32pc quota in government jobs is being reserved for three divisions of South Punjab for the provision of human resources to the region.
For this purpose, he said, a summary of amendments to the existing law on civil services had been prepared. The allocation of quota in jobs would improve the administrative arrangements for deployment of employees from the respective districts for the provision of services in South Punjab, he said.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved development projects including expansion of Rehmat ul Lil Alameen (PBUH) scholarships to colleges and universities.
In this regard, the cabinet standing committee for finance and development met under the chair of Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht and approved funds for the schemes, said a statement issued on Friday. The meeting decided to expand the scope of Rehmatul Lil Alameen (PBUH) scholarships to colleges and universities and approved the release of Rs477 million in the current fiscal year for students. Reportedly, during the next financial year, the scholarship amount will be increased to Rs834 million.
