The American Boat and Yacht Council is hosting its second Educator Training Conference. The July 20-22 online session is aimed at high school and and post-secondary instructors and administrators who are teaching marine service or considering adding it to their curriculums.
“We were blown away by the sellout participation at our first educator training conference in 2019, and the industry’s support,” ABYC Foundation executive director Margaret Podlich
statement. “This year’s event will be all online, offering the ability for anyone, anywhere to attend without the cost and time of travel.”
Organizers said this year’s conference will focus on three main topics derived from input by marine service teachers:

Joe Maniscalco
The American Boat and Yacht Council added to its board of directors at its recent annual meeting, with a new member and officer appointments.
Joe Maniscalco, who has served as marine service manager with Yamaha Motor Corp. for nearly 18 years, was named to the the ABYC board. Maniscalco also oversees the company’s apprenticeship program, which partners with trade schools across the country to train the next generation of marine technicians.
“Our industry is facing a shortage of qualified technicians, who are the cornerstone for providing boating enthusiasts with worry-free boat experiences,” Maniscalco
said in a statement. “Working directly with ABYC as a board member will allow me to support a common vision we share of providing career opportunities to those who want to pursue a meaningful career as a technician.”
