Rosemary Engert from Conesus, N.Y., and assigned to the 152nd Engineer Company received a promotion to the rank of private on February 28, 2021.
Michael Sick from Avon, N.Y., and assigned to the Company D, 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion received a promotion to the rank of staff sergeant on March 1, 2021.

Fort Carson soldiers return from helping COVID-19 efforts in Los Angeles
FORT CARSON, CO. (KRDO) - About 200 soldiers with the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division will be coming home after being deployed to Los Angeles to support FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency with COVID-19 vaccine efforts at California State University, Los Angeles.
The soldiers deployed under the leadership of the 299th Brigade Engineer Battalion of the 1st SBCT and left for Los Angeles on February 11.
“It was a privilege and an honor for all of us to serve the American people in this historic effort. Our soldiers administered more than 300,000 COVID-19 vaccinations,” said Lt. Col. Andy Olson, commander, 299th BEB, 1st SBCT, 4th Inf. Div. “They exemplified professionalism, respect, and compassion, and the people of East Los Angeles were so gracious and appreciative. These human interactions are truly what made the mission special for all involved.”
By COREY DICKSTEIN | STARS AND STRIPES Published: April 8, 2021 ATLANTA A pair of Fort Stewart, Ga.-based engineering officers is set to become the first all-female team to compete for the title of the Army s best-skilled combat engineering duo next month in Missouri. The 3rd Infantry Division will send the all-female team of 1st Lt. Trish Burden and 2nd Lt. Amanda Atkinson to the Army’s Best Sapper Competition May 1-4 at Fort Leonard Wood, Army officials said. Burden and Atkinson are engineering officers with the 3rd ID’s 9th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team. “It s an honor to compete and represent our unit, and even if we weren t the first all-female team just to go is a very, very good opportunity for us,” said Burden, who commissioned into the Army in 2017. “We’re really proud to be able to do that, [and] to show other Sappers that it is possible to go as an all-female team is exciting.”
