United Way Hosts Inaugural Celebrate Awards To Recognize Local Nonprofits And Volunteers Thursday, May 13, 2021 United Way of Greater Chattanooga and its nonprofit support arm Venture Forward virtually hosted the inaugural Celebrate Awards event on Tuesday. Three awards were presented to the winning finalists in the categories of Innovation in Action, Volunteer of the Year, and Nonprofit of the Year. The finalists and winners for each award were selected by third-party volunteer judges from a pool of nominees submitted online from individuals in and around the greater Chattanooga area.
The Innovation in Action award, sponsored by Bridge Innovate, was presented to Clínica Médicos for the agility and ingenuity they utilized to provide full access healthcare throughout the pandemic. Other nominees included WTCI-PBS and Reflection Riding Center.
Sunset Cinema In Miller Park Set For May 22 And 29 Monday, May 3, 2021
The city of Chattanooga - Open Spaces announces Sunset Cinema in Miller Park, a movie series in downtown Chattanooga. Each night Open Spaces is partnering with a nonprofit to raise awareness about and funds for their mission.
There will also be yard games, vendors, food trucks, and more at the event. Bring a blanket, sprawl out in the grass and enjoy a movie under the stars with friends and neighbors.

Creative Discovery Museum Launches National Competition For New Plaza Art Piece Wednesday, March 17, 2021
The Creative Discovery Museum is launching a national competition to create an interactive art piece that will be the centerpiece of a redesigned entrance and plaza. In the first phase of the competition, CDM is seeking qualifications from artists and artist led teams to develop proposals to create a work that reflects the museum’s playful spirit and welcomes visitors to the museum. Up to three teams will be selected and each awarded a $3,500 stipend to develop site-specific concept design proposals. The winning concept design will be used to fundraise for the public artwork and plaza redesign construction. Proposals are due April 12, by 1 p.m.

Creative Discovery Museum’s annual fundraiser AmuseUm, was one of the last events to take place in Chattanooga prior to COVID-19 entering the community. With safety precautions still in place, CDM has reimagined AmuseUm and turned it into a delicious, safe, family-friendly event AmuseYum.
Choose from five, gourmet, four-course meals crafted by Lee Towery Catering and a bottle of red or white wine. AmuseYum dinners will be delivered to the ticket holder’s home on a night of their choice between March 5-7.
AmuseYum offers three different ticket options.
